Bexar County (pronounced "bear" and where you find San Antonio) is/was home to a large number of military bases: Kelly AFB, Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, and Ft. Sam Houston Army Base. Brooke Army Medical Center at Ft. Sam is a renowned hospital, especially for the treatment of burn victims.
