I was thinking the first was strictly those who refused to submit to Rome. Today it's the whole nation of Israel, not a few hundred die hards.
Israel may be looking for a reason to nuke the Bushehr nuclear plant in Iran. That would fulfill the prophecy against Elam found in Jeremiah 49:34-39.
