At least SOMEONE was found dead. It's not hard for the 3 letter agencies to fake an ID and coroner's report. The real culprit may be safe elsewhere, having served his purpose.

The FBI obviously got an anonymous tip from themselves regarding a suspiciously dead body spotted in the heavily wooded woods, while doggedly running down every other possibility they reported to their tip lines.
