Pfizer lays off hundreds at Portage factory
🧠 SUDDENLY 🕳️
PORTAGE, Mich. —
Low demand for Pfizer's COVID-19 products has put roughly 200 workers out of a job.
Didn’t they just close down manufacturing facilities in NC too?
NC plant was hit by a tornado. Restarted production late September.
I thought there was another plant around Sanford NC to be closed.
NC plant is still open. I know people that work there. At this point they aren't laying off. However they don't have any work. They are paying people to show up for work and not doing anything. I truly don't understand how they can afford this. They are renting the remaining warehouses (to store medicine that survived the tornado) of the old QVC plant that was destroyed in a fire a few years ago.
