I don't know where this is coming from but three different reporters covering the Trump trial said they are hearing offers of a settlement.
There's been private conversations between the Trump team and the State lawyers.
Alina Habba met with the judge one on one for at least a half hour.
They went to lunch, but court didn't start for while after the break.
Habba then left the courtroom.
It’s hard to come to any useful conclusions without sauce. But, if President Trump is complaining about a low-ball settlement offer it sounds like it is the NY AG’s office that is seeking a settlement. They would love a settlement because they can claim victory without the risk of an appeal where they are likely to be overturned.
It's basically reporters covering the trial and so far it's just talk in the courthouse....outside the courtroom Alina Habba is talking mistrial.
Also Elise Stefaniik who is clearly working with the Trump lawyers just called for an investigation of Michael Cohen for perjury https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-allies-house-call-criminal-probe-michael-cohen-testimony-fraud-t-rcna125112
See my other post. The AG's office already won a gigantic part of the case before trial and are seeking a huge amount of $$$. So there is incentive for Trump to settle. Trump tried to settle this case back in September 2022, right befor the lawsuit was filed the made a last minute pitch to the NY AG.
Thanks!
