So X comments say military protocol calls for the First Lady to sit in the end, and plenty of past pictures shown. Does anyone know where to find this in official writing? This could very well be an excellent tool to help some people along their journey. Every little bit helps.

yes & might be helpful to look at images from previous funerals. from ‘normal’ times, Jacqueline Kennedy’s perhaps…or Betty Ford. they were both popular, seems like people would try to have a proper service for them.
