Interesting how in S01E10, they have a woman leading Baltimore and its survivors against the "barbarians at the gate". Her rational is to give the sick and worthless an "antidote" which slowly kills everyone injected while keeping the elite, artists, scientists, the worthy safe and away from infection in order to build a better society. Then keep isolated while the virus rages and kills the worthless sheeple.
