Joys, we are definitely on the same page. You say "A David in our times". Just a point of interest, some of my ancestry is from Scotland as well and I studied quite a bit of Scottish history. I came upon this little book all about the Scottish Declaration of Independence also known as the Declaration of Arbroath of 1320. It is a letter from King Robert the Bruce of Scotland to the Bishop of Rome, John XXII. It is also signed by 25 Scottish nobles. This incredible historical document contains a record of the origins of the Scots and even the route of their previous migrations which the Roman Catholic Pope acknowledged as truth. The letter says that the Scots claim their descent from the people of Israel. It was not shocking to me because II Esdras has a lot to say about the migrations of the Lost Tribes of Israel after they were deported to the north-west by the Assyrians in 721 BC. That is why to this day, Welsh(Briton) and Gaelic languages are akin to Ancient Hebrew, which Professor Bunsen a philologist proved way back in the 1860s. Not to be confused with those today that claim that they are of the House of Judah and are NOT as we find in Rev. 2 and 3.
It you are interested in studying this little book, it is called The Scottish Declaration of Independence, an Analysis by E. Raymond Capt. God bless.
How fascinating JohnQ! I love history and have Irish bloodlines on my Paternal Grandfather's side and didn't realize how the Gaelic languages are related to Ancient Hebrew! Going to buy a copy of this book! Thank you and blessings to your family!
Thank God, I was not sure how you would react about this wonderful truth. The Spirit moves in you, our people are awakening. Great that you are also of Irish ancestry, this book connects all the dots with the Irish as well and will amaze you. I also have Irish, Welsh, English and of course Scottish and a teeny bit of French in my ancestry. My first British ancestor came from Britain to New England in the 1680s. Hope you enjoy the book, God bless.
We both, hubby & I, have English & French and I have Cherokee and my husband's Grandfather Paternal Grandfather came from Spain. I know we will enjoy the book! Thanks again fren!
