Just turn the food pyramid upside down if you want to eat better. They won't tell how much vitamin D is in lard, they won't tell you how many extra calories you ingest meeting your protein requirements from plants instead of meat. Humans didn't have tooth decay until we adopted an agrarian lifestyle. The population became much more iron deficient when we stopped using cast-iron cookware. They've constantly attacked dairy and eggs.
The most important thing I have to say is where you get your food is as important as what you eat. I read a study about farm raised tilapia where they were injecting pure oxygen into the water to support such a dense population while feeding them ground up chicken beaks and feed from poorly raised chickens. Those tilapia had a higher nitrate content than bacon.
Cows eating corn in a CAFO develope a ridiculous amount of ecoli and it is easily fixed by putting them out to pasture but instead they rinse the meat with chemicals. Hunt, fish, garden, ranch or get to know the people who do.
The takeaway is that anything and everything THEY say to do is bad; and we should just do the opposite.
Like when reading or hearing any news report. Imagine the opposite of everything said, and that's guaranteed to be 80-100% true.
I'd go with 80% since they say that I shouldn't drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes but those are so obviously bad they can't bullshit you about them.
Amen. Well said and all true.
