Bill Clinton was impeached. He was not out.
A vote to impeach, in not impeached, right?
Wouldn't the Senate have to hold the trial, and a majority vote in favor of impeachment? How does it work at Cabinet level.
He looks like Klaus's minime.
I wondered about cabinet as well … goes to senate ,, they will not remove him …it’s just theatrics !
While just being theatrics, it's important to note that it is an important bit of theatrics.
Optics are part of war.
Looks to be the same process a if president were impeached with exception that Chief Justice of SCOTUS does not preside over Senate trial.
The United States Constitution provides that the House of Representatives "shall have the sole Power of Impeachment" (Article I, section 2) and "the Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments … [but] no person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present" (Article I, section 3). The president, vice president, and all civil officers of the United States are subject to impeachment.
I'm not sure the Senate is required by law to take up the trial though.
