Only real benefit would be making it mildly more difficult to communicate and for people to report shenanigans at polling stations.
But there’s so many Social Media Apps now. That I think any difficulty would be negligible at best.

Only if they were somehow routing data through those sites would they really matter. Otherwise, like you said, they really would make no difference in the way people voted.

They would have needed to completely shut the internet down for that plan to work. Just have voting....oops! No Internet, no voting 😱.....not that the voting machines are connected to internet! Lol
