because their entire world view and ideology growing up was formed of cognitive dissonances so often that they have given up on trying to figure things out for themselves and blindly accept what their tribe decides the truth to be about anything because thinking about things drives them into dissonance land and makes them feels stupid. Oh and they can't admit that the foundations of their beliefs are corrupt contradictions.
