Ship registered from Singapore, wonder if it had any Chinese chips in the control systems?
Modern ships can be remotely hacked - just like cars. I inspect ships for a living....
Of course I'm not saying that's what happened - just that it's now possible! I'm sure this one will go to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) instead of the local Coast Guard investigators in Baltimore.
This one will go directly to Pete Butt-Edge-Edge to hide the evidence.
Isn't that the same board that investigates train derailments?
Exactly.
Container ships easy to hack, track, send off course and even sink, security experts say
These are two separate issues, right?
Registering a ship in Singapore doesn't mean you change the control systems.
I like to think it was the same cargo ship that crashed in Obamas leave the world behind movie
I heard, on a local Baltimore radio station, that this ship was involved in another accident a few years ago-heard the date, but then forgot it and with my transistor radio, I can't reverse the sound so I lost it. Don't know that it was involved in the movie you are speaking about-but I think not-but who knows.
It was it failed inspections for penetration system
It was involved in similar accident 2016 in Antwerp, Belgium https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2024/03/26/baltimore-bridge-collapse-ship-dali/73105394007/
Yes, that is correct. I heard it again this morning and remembered it. Thanks.
Chips? The bag was half full, causing less than accurate navigation...
