Air Force and Space Force Introduce a New AI Tool
(Non-classified Internet Protocol Generative Pre-training Transformer (NIPRGPT))
Artificial intelligence (AI) promises to be disruptive and even game-changing technology, one that is already being embraced by the United States military -- albeit cautiously. This week, the United States Air Force and United States Space Force announced the launch of a new AI tool that can be utilized by service members to determine how the technology can be used to aid in routine tasks, including producing reports, computer coding, and addressing IT issues.
Dubbed the Non-classified Internet Protocol Generative Pre-training Transformer (NIPRGPT), the tool could help provide a greater understanding of how AI can improve access to information.
“NIPRGPT is a critical bridge to ensure we get the best tools we have into our team’s hands while larger commercial tools are navigating our intense security parameters and other processes,” said Alexis Bonnell, Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) chief information officer. “Changing how we interact with unstructured knowledge is not instant perfection; we each must learn to use the tools, query, and get the best results. NIPRGPT will allow Airmen and Guardians to explore and build skills and familiarity as more powerful tools become available.”

Anomalous Satellites? DARPA Deploys New System for Detecting Unusual Objects in Orbit
Dubbed Agatha, the new system is designed to offer the U.S. military unrivaled space domain awareness, enabling the detection of anomalous behaviors that “no human, or team of humans, could possibly execute,” according to Dr. Dylan Kesler, Director of Data Science and AI at Slingshot Aerospace.
Hunting Anomalous Satellites
Kesler said in a statement that detecting a range of irregularities in the operations of objects in orbit is becoming increasingly challenging amid the growing number of satellites currently entering orbit. As of early 2023, the International Telecommunication Union had received filings for more than one million new satellites comprising more than 300 constellations.
However, not all anomalies represent potential espionage or attacks. Kesler also says that satellites sometimes deviate from their intended course resulting from malfunctions or other issues they encounter. Given such possibilities, Kesler says Agatha has “proven its ability to deliver high-quality insights that provide ‘explainability’ or context for why specific objects were flagged.”

I wonder what "anomalies" they're referring to here? Can't just be rogue satellites or meteors.
They already "been had it" since at least 1990. The core hardware tech anyway. The "AI" component is just icing on the cake. Little declas articles here and there about miltech "invisibility" during the gulf wars, the proverbial "magic screen" and other toys.
Here's a very interesting example from 1991, showing a mil contractor trade mag showcasing The BEAST: Battle Engagement Area Simulator and Tracker.
It's an "Invisible" military UAP disc, covered with LCD panels and cameras like a disco ball that projects whats behind it so you can't see it.
Coupled with "AI" computing power, it would be capable of vacuuming up a ridiculous amount of data, even outliers and distilling all probable outcomes quickly.

And so the great freeing of mankind begins. Once the govt finds out just how much money they could potentially save by "automating" certain tasks that usually take untold man hours to complete and published the results, there will be a mad dash by every other corporation to reproduce the findings. And then we will see just how many college degrees really are worthless.
Under the current monetary paradigm, the only way we get thru this without a societal collapse is to come up with some sort of universal basic income for everyone where everyone gets enough money to live comfortably. Which means we must destroy the concept of money altogether, especially since it's become apparent we really won't need the concept anymore if only a small percentage of the population will continue to work, those being mechanics, first responders, technicians, the construction trades, and (for now) doctors and nurses.
If you run this "automating" thought process all the way thru, eventually we get to a point where we won't need to do anything more than whatever our creative interests are because we would be able to automate everything, sort of how droids do all the physically demanding work in Star Wars, but with a Star Trek twist where the bulk of humanity would be free to do whatever they want and money woildnt be an object becuse we will have effectively eliminated the need for it.
On the other hand, however, we have the Terminator or Battlestar Galactica thought processes where the machines we create to make our lives infinitely easier then turn on us and claim were oppressive slave masters and decide to destroy us.
Regardless of the outcome, this idea of "money" is quickly losing its luster with humanity and it needs to go away for good if we're truly going to "ascend" into a new human paradigm.
Edit:
Th Navy already started this a few years ago by redesigning our vessels to be run with less crew by automating a lot of functions that now don't require to be manned 24/7 with nothing more than a computer program and a technician monitoring the system who watches for problems and then fixes them. So far, it's worked pretty well and has led to less Sailors being stationed onboard.
For example, all aircraft carriers were able to cut their crew compliments down by between 500-1000 sailors, depending on the ship class. NIMITZ Class carriers require more due to their age, but the Ford Class is larger, faster, can carry more munitions and aircraft than a NIMITZ class but has almost 1000 less Sailors. Couple this with the recent news about a Navy AI driven fighter drone scoring a 100% kill rate against human adversaries, and you see where I'm going with this right?
