I thought Lewy Body was a type of Parkinsons. That would explain his gait problems and freezing moments.

No, you can have Parkinson's with Lewy Body Dementia etc.

Nasty stuff, but it's easy to blame one of the most common forms of dementia because it's a high chance of being a correct prediction.
