TL;DR: They got their money during a period of low tax/low regulation. By now increasing taxes and regulations, they create a barrier to competition that they themselves didn't have to cross. By creating a minimal social safety net for the very poor, they prevent radical uprisings against their comfortable positions. European socialism entrenches the current moneyed class at the top, and makes mobility essentially impossible.
As we reach a point in this narrative where the psyop ends, the fighting stops and healing has to begin, I think it is important we all start to understand what drives the liberal mentality, and how to dissuade people from the dangerous belief system that liberalism is a virtue intended to help humanity.
It certainly makes sense why they’re always on boards of arts, culture and social causes.
