It is routine for NOAA to send surveillance airplanes (WP-3Ds) into hurricanes to obtain meteorologic data. Called Hurricane Hunters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_hunters It would be strange if it were not there.
But that's no fun. :( Surely it's wEaTher ConTrol. What in the world could a single plane do to a FUCKING HURRICANE?! People around here are getting really, realllly dumb, and do not have a sense of scale.
It took only 180 pounds of dry ice to alter the path of Hurricane King by 135 degrees, and that was done in 1947. The average American adult weighs more than that. How much can a single plane do? Quite a lot, evidently.
