There is almost nobody alive today who got married as a virgin. There is some truth to what you said though about poisoning yourself spiritually. I don't think anyone is salvageable though...so God either loves us or hates us...or just doesn't care. Nothing changes.
You are correct. Each and every one of us is a sinner and doomed to hell. But Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins knowing that we could never ever be saved ourselves otherwise because it was written. Belief in Jesus through the Gospel by repentance of our sin and confession in our hearts that he is God is what can save our souls and bring us into eternity through a real relationship with him as we grow in his character. God loves us more than we could ever know and he wants all his children to return to him but because of his love he gave us free Will to choose wether we want to be with him or not. God is for freedom and he would never force us into a relationship with him. If you reject him he will leave you on your own until you call upon him again.
Yeah, that doesn't make sense, either. The idea of punishing a third party is inherently immoral, and if Jesus voluntarily died to pay for our sins, then it was a transaction...which means we ought to sin as much as possible to increase the value of his sacrifice. And btw, he was only dead for 3 days, so what was actually sacrificed? It doesn't make sense. Much of what is in Christianity does make sense, and there's more to the truth than we know, but...yeah the Jesus sacrifice isn't it. If so, then there's more to that story we aren't being told.
It makes perfect sense but to understand the Bible you must first believe in God to hear the true living word. Otherwise I agree it can be hard to grasp the true meaning. It took me quite some time to get the meaning of Jesus and what he did for us. The sacrifice of Jesus was a transaction. What was actually sacrificed?… Jesus was! The only living God ever on planet earth was sacrificed so that we who sinned did not have to be bound to the laws of the Old Testament and by belief in him could be forgiven for our sins through true repentance and conviction that HE is Lord.
He was Gods ONLY son. Imagine how many more people Jesus could have healed? But his job was not to heal us all yet. His job was to leave this gift in the world for us so that one day we could be saved from our sins. Surely you can keep sinning as long as you want and “get more value for the transaction” however this is a dangerous game to play as you never know when will be your last “tomorrow. The only chance to receive his gift is in the present as tomorrow may never come.
Jesus IS God. He sacrificed himself in human form to die for our sins as that was the only way we could EVER be saved due to the laws in the Old Testament.
The sacrifice was GREAT. Jesus lived a perfect life with no sin. He could perform miracles, heal and was loved by many. He could have become the God of this world had he wanted to and enjoy a rich and plentiful life. But he had a different mission - a mission to save his children from eternal death. Jesus perfectly lived out Gods WILL for his life and he willingly sacrificed himself on the cross and allowed them to beat him to death in the most inhumane and brutal way. He had done nothing wrong yet he was kicked, pierced, bruised and whipped until he bled. They put thorns on his head. Who else do you know in life that would sacrifice their own life despite you sinning against them so that you can live? If that is not the greatest sacrifice in history of man I would love to hear of anyone that has topped that. Jesus provided us a perfect example of what character God wants us to grow in to become closer to him and mature in spirit. He came here to save our souls. No one else have ever done that and no one else ever will. That is why HE is GOD and why he deserves our eternal LOVE and RESPECT. ✝️

Not to mention that if the concept of the Trinity is true, then God and Jesus are the same entity.
So in a roundabout way, God killed himself.
Then we throw in all the omniscient and omnipotent attributes. So, if God really does have control over everything and does know everything that has ever happened, what's happening now, and what's happening in the future, then surely he would have known that Jesus would only be dead for 3 days.
And if God knew that, and if Jesus and God are the same entity, then Jesus would have known beforehand that he would only be dead for 3 days and everything would turn out OK for him.
So yes, it certainly calls into question what was actually sacrificed.
I'm just going to go wild here and not worry about being called out for being sacrilegious. I dare say this comes close to being con artists. 😲🙊
Yeah...Christianity is a con. It takes a lot of true spiritualism stuff and blends it with a psychotic religion that seeks to manipulate and control people as well as control who gets to procreate through marriages performed in accordance with the government. It takes much of what makes us who we are and calls it sin so that we are always afraid of being free...it's evil.
