However, there is also a weak point to that in that the government could most certainly compel Amazon or any other store selling these to provide a list of people who purchased said item.
You can take steps against that, but then there are other counters to those steps.
The question is, how much time can malicious actors waste keeping them running around in circles and will that allow time to cover it up or escape entirely out of their grasp?
