Every trucker I’ve known can’t carry a firearm in their truck. Even if you own your own rig, you drive for corporations and the like, cannot have a firearm. It’s an agreement they sign. I always ask them, “but really though, just me and you, you still hide one somewhere for safety right”….”nope”. Seriously?! I’m sorry, if I drove a rig, especially “over the road” guys(long haulers)…I would have a firearm. Period.
I don’t know anything about federal, they just always tell me stuff like “company policy”, or “company regulations” and the like. If it’s a federal law that would make sense. Still tho. If I had to hide one behind the radio I would have something.

I'm a cdl class b as far as I know federal regulations says u can't carry. Have to check into it. Been a long time since I got my license
I've had a Class A CDL for almost 40 years, I do not remember that verbiage when I got my license or when I had to renew.
But, it has been at least 20 years since I have had to retake the written.
Ever since I dropped my Hazmat endorsement I have not had to retake the written every time my license comes up for renewal.
