Up until the later 90s, there generally existed something called fair and balanced journalism. It was an ethical expectation that you would give both sides of every story and let the viewer / reader / listener make up his own mind. Now the journalist's mind (along with the editor's or producer's) is made up before he's even hired, let alone starts working on a story, let alone reports it.

There's no real journalism any more unless they are independent.
