I once lost a flight instructor job opportunity to a girl, the only reason I can see was my XY chromosomes. I was still working part time as a CFI months later when I heard she ran their Cessna 414 off the end of the runway and damaged it. In my experience, women pilots have a chip on their shoulders because they think they have to show the world that they've become pilots and are better than the boys. Take that as you wish, but that was my experience.
It's more about getting a job based on gender or race rather than on qualifications that I have a problem with. Sounds like you were passed over due to DEI.
Yeah, but it was like that even back in the 90's, just not as bad. Full time positions for a flight instructor were few and far between. There was barely any money in it; it's a job you have to love in order to do, and if you're in it long enough and get seniority, then you can make big bucks. That takes at least a decade to do. Now these pilots are getter ng hired with less PIC time than what I had to get to become eligible for hire, then you get accidents like what we saw at Toronto- complete and total pilot error due to bad judgement.
Since I was in the middle of a 5 year apprenticeship, and I was living on my own, I stayed the course and followed the money (Stayed in the apprenticeship) or else I wouldn't have a car or a place to sleep. I eventually bought my own aircraft and can fly on my own terms.
Women are very hot in flight suits. But to get their numbers, they push through and graduate unqualified or marginally qualified pilots. The two women on my table almost killed me during pilot training. Another one trashed the landing gear twice on an F-15E. I am sure that there are good ones out there, but too many bad apples taint the rest.
I worked at my regional airport back in the day. The only female UPS Overnight pilot among the group that flew this specific route landed gear up in a Beech 1900. They kept her on!
Note: I deleted the previous post because it revealed the pilot's name. It didn't seem right. The main point is the DEI policy, not the individual imo.
I have to wonder if these people know they just aren't good enough/experienced enough/educated enough/smart enough for the job, or if they just think they're all that and a bag of chips.
Oh, so this pilot who only got certified a month ago was being described by Delta as an "experienced" pilot, ey? LOL! Is that like Pfizer's "safe and effective" vax? Why are so many people effing LIARS???

Were you able to take advantage of the unexpected job opening?

It's the second one.
Feminism and liberalism are descriptive words of narcissism.
They sure act like they deserve it and are very smug and condescending!
No, you were right the first time. Knowing the name of the pilot at the controls of a crash is a public service.
Thank God all survived despite apparent incompetence and immaturity of the staff on board.
surprise, surprise!
