If their precious foreign nationals in our country illegally, who have been subsidized for medical care, housing & food for years are able to send $59 Billion in remittances to Mexico EVERY YEAR, then they can FN pay for their own English classes!

Well, sort of. Most ESL students are placed into a normal curriculum and the teachers are expected to “adjust” their expectations for ESL students based on their abilities in the English language. For the majority of incoming ESL students that may mean that teachers are required to have all work, including notes, explanations, quizzes, daily work, and tests be translated into the student’s first language. So, not really. This has been my experience at the high school level, I have no idea how it is handled in the lower grades.
The money used to finance those English classes will be going into the pockets of the dems who thought up this idea. Only a small percentage of the money will fund the classes. Typical bait and switch money scheme by the left.
No no no not in schools. There are volunteers in the community to teach English before they enter any of our institutions so they can be productive. Oh and they need to be legal.
Please, all the green card holders come here. They don't know a word of English and really have no interest in actually learning it. Their kids have no interest in learning anything, just like their parents.

Colleague: "I'm going to Columbia this summer to learn better Spanish so I can be a fully bilingual teacher and teach in Spanish."
Me: "Why do you need to go to Columbia to learn Spanish?"
Colleague: "Everyone knows the best way to learn a new language is by full immersion."
Me: "So why do we fail to give non English speaking students and their parents that same opportunity here?"

Just deport everyone (above age 6) who can't speak English. Simpler. Including the legals.
Just deport EVERYONE who is not a US Citizen, even the green card holders who came here for a "gooder" life and have no intention of becoming a US Citizen. They just want the money and freebies that they can't get in there home countries.
