Like most cults, they can not have people holding loyalty and affection to anything other than their cult leader and or symbol. Dog owners in general are just as loyal to their furry pals as the dogs are to them. They must find this an insulting and outrageous, sacrilege. I do believe, correct me if I am wrong but, working dogs are OK to many of them.. just not house pets who may be taking your attention and love away from their greedy cult symbol of worship.
That is very insightful, and while I had never thought of it that way, it resonates as true. The use of dogs as working animals is permitted, if they must but the animals are used as tools, not sentient beings.
