I think this is an argument for more societal control from the gov when the root of the problem is that people have tendencies to be immoral. Yes, the bad people should be punished properly and swiftly..... but we don't want surveillance from the gov to "keep us in line". That will only make the bad people more sneaky. Right now they are brazen because there is no repercussion for bad behavior.
For a proper criminal justice system it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel right now. If we tighten the screw on "everybody" in the name of safety then we live in a suppressed population. If more people truly were Christians then we wouldn't have the problem we have now. Which, tells me that this is a good vs. evil war that has been going on for a very long time.

As for me, I try every day to stray from the morals of man. I follow God and try my best to be a good person in His eyes. He's watching and he's a vengeful God. The alternative is that it consumes every person because not enough people were smart enough to follow God and join in his side of this battle.
Jails could be fixed easily by having solitary confinement for every inmate. Institutionalized people don't care about being incarcerated. It's "free" room and board, free meals, and hanging out with the homies all day without having to have a job.
It's not uncomfortable enough. They need to get rid of rec time, pods with multiple inmates, and visitation. If your ass goes to jail/prison it should be a punishment, not some humane treatment of people that behaved inhumanely in society.
Why do they refer to jail as "vacation" like it's a joke? It's only a joke because it's not uncomfortable enough for them to want to avoid being there.
The next thing to fix would be corruption within the police force so that the wrong people don't end up in jail for the wrong reasons.

So a lot of the crime is repeated offenders who get released is causing more crime.
