Big differemce in the two cases. The cake people OWNED the business and the courts got involved. The damage tontje cake company came because of the courts as the number of homos who would have bought cakes is negligible. When I went to work for the company I spent most of my career at, it was communicated that you could get fired if you cashed your check at a bar. Good citizenship was a must. Anything you did to bring disrepute upon the company was grounds for dismissal.
Wow! That brought back memories. I remember having to cash a payroll check at grocery stores or other businesses. We got paid on Friday and by the time we got home the banks were closed until Monday.
Better put the word out to the rest of the company. Its sad you have people like that working for you. Maybe kind patriots would like a job and wont discredit your company.
In my view we have to offer a path for those that did wrong to repent, and correct their actions, especially when it was not deliberate on employers part.
And I sympathize a bit with employers that get shitty employees what with the labor pool what it is and all, a bunch of entitled whiners.
