September 11th, the day after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, a man dressed in scrubs and doctor’s lab coat was arrested for breaking into the crime scene at UVU and filming evidence.
He didn’t run to the Losee...no, instead he went directly to the Woodbury. Sound familiar? The very building where I caught someone on video on the roof 17 minutes before Charlie was shot and killed.
This guys name? Russell Kennington, 38. Arrested for criminal trespass and obstruction of justice, felony level.
He reportedly crossed inside two sets of yellow crime scene tape, claiming he was “reminiscing and filming the scene” and “following the shadows”.
So why was a man disguised as a doctor, sneaking into the crime scene just hours after the shooting and why is NO ONE talking about it?
Utah man accused of sneaking into assassination crime scene, taking photos of evidence
OREM, Utah (KUTV) — A man was arrested after he allegedly snuck into the assassination crime scene at Utah Valley University to take photos and videos of evidence.
Russell Kim Kennington, 38, of Pleasant Grove, was arrested on suspicion of capital obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony, and criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor.
Kennington, wearing a white lab coat, allegedly walked past highly visible crime scene tape — which had large black lettering reading, "CRIME SCENE/POLICE/DO NOT CROSS" — and began to take pictures and videos of evidence.
Agents and detectives attempted to confront him, but he ran toward the Woodbury Building, where he was stopped, the affidavit states.
He identified himself as Kennington and was detained in handcuffs.
He allegedly told officials he was "reminiscing and filming the scene."
He claimed to be "following the shadows" to avoid detection, saying he didn't want to "disturb" officers.
"There was two sets of yellow crime scene tape up that Russell would have to of crossed to make it to the main incident crime scene," the affidavit states.
Officials obtained his phone and found a picture Kennington took of himself at the scene.
He was booked into the Utah County Jail.
The Utah Department of Public Safety emphasized that the investigation is "fast-moving and constantly evolving."
"The investigative team is balancing the need to provide information to the public and protect the integrity of the investigation," a press release states.
Law enforcement personnel continue to search for any potential subjects related to the shooting.
Multiple leads are being investigated, but no suspect is in custody.
