See this is what I think is wild The rates were jumping anyway mine have gone up significantly over the last several years The so-called lower tier plan I was on was looking at going over $1,000 a month and they're apparently enrolling me in another one that has better coverage but is still an increase of $150 a month but far cheaper than $1,000 a month plan.
We really need to go after these insurance companies that are pulling this nonsense
There was a time when I might have been able to taper off the medication I was on because I wasn't taking it for a while but I started again because I was worried about something happening. I have epilepsy and it's a medication to prevent that and the last time I had a seizure was when I forgot to take my meds for 2 days but the problem is the medication itself can cause seizures if you just suddenly stop taking it
Me too. I was so pissed when I had to pay the yearly $875 tax penalty for Obamacare because I didn't have insurance. It will be interesting to see how the website TrumpRX works. It is supposed to help people get the best prices on what they need. It seems to me like they will be undoing the whole crooked Medical/Big Pharma/Insurance scheme/scam within a few months!
Medical insurance is a scam racket. Instead of stopping them from charging astronomical amounts that you will never use nor get back, they should be jailed for life.
It’s hard to do, but we should all be disciplining our butts off to avoid any need (other than accidents) for the “services” from the medical industry. Sorry to say, but the medical industry is way too corrupt, fraudulent, and selfish. No trust in them.
There is no will behind the Rinos. They just wrote season 3 of firefly, big fucking deal.
Dems will shut down the government again. They got the Mandami award. They are in fact winning. They do something and fuck over Americans and take a win.
“ There is no will behind the Rinos. They just wrote season 3 of firefly, big fucking deal.”
Possibly my favorite political comment of all time. JS lol should we also start sending Tabasco in hopes of getting aliens next time instead of a shutdown?
Insurance is up until then. Putting more of a squeeze on people, and people on the left are blaming Trump. Because everything is his fault. Until a dem is in office, then it's still Trumps fault.
Get the fed out of it, other than having a law that states clear and upfront pricing and RX can't be sold for more than the cheapest they sell it to other countries.
Then let the States set the "minimum coverage" requirements OR not, letting it be a truly free market. Let the "health care" companies and independent doctors bid on their services and WE choose not only who has the best price, but who also provides the best service. Yeah, I paid $50 for colon screening, but may ass hurts now, but when I did it with X doc for $80, not only did my ass not hurt, I got a smoothie to help sooth my empty stomach after it was all done.
If they do this, they better have a strong plan this time. Last time it was just more expensive version of Obamacare, which Laura Loomer immediately called out, with Paul Ryan at the helm. It never even got a vote in the Senate bc they made their own version while the House was bickering.
If they get this wrong it would be catastrophic. I have hope, but I'm not looking forward to what happened last time...even before No Name's vote on just repealing.
How about go back to you buy your own insurance and or not. I would immediately chose not. You will see the whole insurance plus pharma completely transformed in this country.
Many will become a lot healthier and take more responsibility for their own damn health.
I agree. The real problem is that insurance companies deny care to people that aren't on the company's insurance plan or Medicaid. Trying to purchase your own is like a 66% denial rate as well. Even those with insurance get denied more often than not.
I'm not really sure where to go with this, tbh. Nationalizing insurance and removing the profit motive, making a better public option, expanding Medicaid, or just saying screw it you get sick then you own it and bury people in debt. The problem with that last one is the problem with all insurance, you never think you need it until you do. I don't have an answer but I'm willing to hear your POV bc I respect it. I've known plenty of people who owned their own health until they didn't.
First thing I propose would be to learn to eat right, exercise and get plenty of rest. Your body knows how to heal itself. There's an intelligence in your body whether you believe it or not. Just like when you bumped yourself or get a bee sting, guess what happened? Inflammation and then after some time, body heals. Now of course, not everyone will know what to do to help the body's intelligence get it heal faster. I do because I learn. I would rather trust myself then the white coat.
Second most important thing is to knowing yourself, I am talking about genetic here, is very important. For example, if you know your parents have heart diseases or cancer, or something, and you are susceptible to that, then you want to do prevention. My family's genetic, I can tell you, is bad teeth. Not so much bad teeth (after I talked to my dentist extensively, it's bad gum disease) but I have to go and find out. After I figured out the problem, then I did everything I could to make sure I prevent that problem. Most people only need to do cleaning 2x a year? I go 4x a year and it's not your normal cleaning but periodontal. My family members were all wearing dentures by age 40 from my mother's side. That's the reason.
Third thing to do is to learn a little bit of healing on your own. I don't mean things like surgery, but just like you want to learn a little bit about fixing your cars or doing some maintenance in your house. We need to take responsibility for our own health. I would go for a check-up with my holistic doctor at least once a year. After that, if there's a problem, fix it.
That's how I kept my dog at peak health. He is 19 and can still do 9 miles. He goes to the holistic doctor and get the check up once a year. Take the supplements like he supposed to and go from there.
Is that right for everyone? No. Some already have what I called bad health to begin with and will need a lot more work. That's when you have to at least buy some insurance to help with physical therapy, nutritionist, or other form of therapy to get back into better health.
That makes sense. Should the federal government be involved in any of it? Tax credits for diet and exercise, or penalties for anything other than routine care? Free genetic testing, to your second point? Even JD Vance didn't know his father well, so for people like him it might help. I mean this seriously, bc I'm not sure human health should even be a federal concern with a proposed healthcare bill like the one in this article.
Should Republicans just say no and eliminate the public option? TBH I'm not sure Medicare and SS should be under the federal governments purview either.
Social security should NOT be. Medicare, I cannot make up my mind just yet.
If there's going to be tax credits, it would be gym. You could also throw in yoga and other exercising venues.
I would also offer tax credits for emergency medicine such as accidents, burns, or other catastrophic events. Otherwise, people need to take care of themselves.
Considering they are denying more and more care, especially Humana, they don't need billions. Greedy bastards. I work at a home health care company and the number of patients being denied additional home health visits is astounding. Many are ending up back in the hospital as a result. And home health care isn't exactly racking up the $ either.
Believe it when i see it. The difference between those paying cash vs the insured should shrink tremendously as well.
I despise the healthcare indu$try about as much as most politician$.

Why I don't mess with that at all. I just pay cash for everything now.
I wish I could but unfortunately there's a medication that I need that even the generic is like $1,000 without insurance
Sorry man. I have been in the healthcare field and saw the corruption so I make sure I am not depending on them.
Same, go back to what our ancestors used, natures medicine unprocessed food, herbs, movement and prayer.
There was a time when I might have been able to taper off the medication I was on because I wasn't taking it for a while but I started again because I was worried about something happening. Tell me what the problem and the symptoms. I might be able to find a cheaper source for you.

Obama is the big snake around here.
A very big snake!
Just got a letter, mine went up 120%,might have to become illegal.

What I am doing.
I don't trust the deathcare.
Good monkeys can use typewriter.
This “bill” gets us nothing!

We will just funnel it to them through Ozempic

Thanks for the honest replies. Wasn't trying to "pepper" you, just wanted to hear a POV. FWIW I agree... even about Medicare. Have a good one.
You are welcome.
My opinion. Be responsible. LOL
