Yes. Though there are signs of Classical Era exploration predating Leif Erickson in the U.S. As well as further exploration afterwards in the Medieval Era predating Columbus.
And lord knows how many stories from Ancient and Medieval Explorers of Strange Islands and strange people to the West of Europe. That we dismiss as Legend and Myth.
Hell. There’s some circumstantial evidence indicating the Ancient Chinese had dealings with Tribes on the West Coast and Alaska.
Ari Marson claims to have met "Bishops" on horseback in Newfoundland before Lief arrived. There are MicMacs who claim descent from Chinese merchant explorers (Admiral Zheng He) who lost imperial funding mid-voyage. There's also St. Brendan of Ireland who wrote an astonishing account of his voyage to Newfoundland in 550AD.
Son of Eric the Red who made it to Greenland by sea, and then Vikings ventured further into unknown seas. Anyway it is very interesting history! Even if I do not remember it all . . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_the_Red
The English founded St. John's Newfoundland on June 24, 1497 (35 years before Cartier). The Vikings were here 500 years before that. It doesn't matter who was here first, it matters who's here now. Newfoundlanders/Skraelingers were the first people in the world to turn back the Scandinavian tide. If you really want to rile up Europe, kick them off the Grand Banks. Then Denmark would lose Greenland AND the Faroe Islands.
I do think that is not totally true .... Indigenous came after 800-900 from the north. The Viking settlement was on the east coast, if I am not mistaken: NEW FOUND LAND.
The Pilgrims by the end of the 16th century encountered people who had arrived there a 100 years or so before.
And then the Dutch kicked some Nordic ass during the 17th century.
But of course, one can claim it. As the saying goes: if you do not hold it, you do not own it.
And holding it is 9/10 of the law ... as that reverts back to the 2nd amendment ....
But if we really have to put forward a claim it is the Irish who have claim. After all, they have ST Brandis.
Puzzle me this: were the indigenous peoples -- I don't know, Incas, Aztecs, lost mound builders, Eskimos etc. -- from Asia across the Bering Straight or similar passage that the climate allowed transverse at those times?? Before, during, after the Ice Age in North America? Other times, off and on as conditions permitted?? Greenland too?
the left are trying to use this as a meme to oppose Trump, but their use of facts & lack of understanding of the great awakening, the fight against WEF and the City of London shows
Boer war awful, the Cecil Rhodes stuff, I did not read much on it, but heard from a retired doctor who passed 10 years ago, Stan Monteith of Monterey Calif., who did lived in S. Africa for a while and then back in USA hosted “Radio Liberty”
They can claim whatever they want. But can they execute like what Trump did in Venezuela?
Wasn't it Leif Erikson who was the Viking that discovered America.
He lived for ages because I saw him in TV western The High Chapparal

Ok, if we are going down this slippery road. St Brendan was there before the Viking thugs.

XYZ was “found”ed in 1700 😀😆👍
Ed Zachary... with all those little "foundlings"
Thanks for the rabbit hole 👍😀

History shows they had blue eyes and blonde hair, just like the Egyptian rulers... some had red hair.
But Scalagerian historians have a whole different narrative... which is why they keep "restoring" sites and hiding things in museum basements...
Inetrdasting! ~Dionysius Petavius: A student of Scaliger, he is known for developing the B.C./A.D. dating system, which is widely used today.~
Come and take it

and they are dissing the indigenous peoples and the Brits who used force to take over colonies that others had discovered before them

I’ve ordered two books on the subject. The British behaviour was once again disgusting.
One of the biggest lies is the concept of British military chivalry. They fight dirty, frequently targeting civilians for the shock value.
thanks for sharing, your comments always remind me of the importance of accurate, honest history
