Yes God did bring us here for a reason.....that reason is to glorify Him. Give people the gospel and God will do the work.... Philippians 2:13, NIV: "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." For as long as I can remember I have thought that it was right for me to wish for the death of people, who for instance are guilty of crimes against children. I thought that there sin was so grave that that is what they deserve immediately. Then in church a few days ago my pastor finished his sermon series on Jonah. I realized that I was thinking like Jonah. Let me explain, everyone thinks of the story of Jonah as God sending a great fish and swallowing him then spitting him out on land to then go to Nineveh to give God's message. What i think most people miss is what happened after that happened. Jonah left the city to watch and see what would become of Nineveh; he remembered what God said he was going to do to the city (God said he was going to destroy it due to their sin). Remember Jonah did not think that the people of Nineveh deserved to be saved, but that was not God's plan. Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". All that to say I hope that from here on out I will act less like Jonah did and more like Abraham did when he asked God to spare Sodom because there could be people in the city that were not living in sin. God can save anyone He wants, even a pedo.....this might not be a popular opinion, but.... This doesn't mean I think they should get off scott free, I just mean that we should have compassion for the souls of ALL men. GOD WINS!!!!!!!!!
