If it happens...
Remember all that "STOP WAR" and "with Ukraine" and just the absolute outrage over the invasion?
You will hear NOTHING of the sort when China invades. If anything the MSM will be running stories about Taiwan "deserves" it.
That and if you are needing computer equipment BUY NOW. Something like 90% of the microprocessors from everything from a microwave, to your car, to your PC are all made at TSMC in Taipei Taiwan. See a Western company like Intel, AMD, Nvidia, or Motorola might DESIGN chips, but they ALL go to TSMC to contract the actual manufacture of their designs. They don't actually make anything.
And that is not the end of it. Here are some other brands out of Taiwan: Gigabyte, Ausus, MSI, and I think PNY also work out the island nation. Guess who makes computers, motherboards, and final products from chips minted at TSMC?
THIS is the major reason China wants the island, with it they utterly, completely, totally dominate the world's computer manufacturing. In theory, when they own it, they can dictate who gets to be part of the 21st century, and who has to figure out how to operate with WW2 levels of technology.
Thing is are GOING to fuck it up, and fuck us all in the process. See The Chicoms are CONVINCED that its the robots and tooling that is the "secret" to stuff like modern 12nm microprocessor manufacturing. But the reality is its the WORKERS and the PROCESS that produce the results.
See making a microchip is very, very, very (need 20 more verys) hard to do, ONLY western-based companies like Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Motorolia, and the Koreans/Japan companies like Toshiba, Sony, Samsung, and TSMC have any ability to do it. Every last single step in the process has to be executed perfectly or nothing works, and even when everything does right, even then, a good portion of the batch of chips doesn't make spec and are "binned" out for lower-quality use. Like they will use a laser to burn off the bad processor cores and sell it off as a lower-performance chip. For example any generation of intel chips, the top-performing model and the lower preforming models are actually using the same dies, just the low-end ones are chips were several cores were bad and they burned off the bad cores and shipped them as "3200 vs the 3800 Ultra" that uses the perfect ships.
So with that context:
China in the early 2000's tried buying a bunch of the chip making machinery in the Mainland, hired chicoms, and they couldn't make a 1990's quality chip, let alone a 2022 quality. Why because "made in China" quality doesn't cut it with high technology.
So what China is gonna do, they are going to capture the factory, then KILL THE WORKERS for not being "true" chicoms like the insane, genocidal xenophobes they are, and bring their animals in to try and run the plant. IN a very real sense they are literally going to kill the golden goose to find out its not full of golden eggs.
Because its not the tooling, its the workers that made TSMC a golden goose. Taiwanese are smarter than Chicoms, and hold themselves to much higher standards than the beastly chicoms in behavior, self-development, and pride in their work.
So you thought the covid chip shortages were bad? Wait until the World's ONLY chip plant goes offline permanently. When that happens, you do realize to build modern computers, you need modern computers to run the robots that build the chips and circuits right?
Worst part? Trump had a "TSMC" scale factory ready to be built in Arizona. Then Biden Canceled it for no more reason than petty bullshit of the fact the childish dems wouldn't let Trump have any "wins" no matter how petty. So to date not one brick has been laid in building an American chip factory despite the desperate need globally to get a redundancy fro TSMC so the chicoms can't send us back to the 1950's in terms of technology.
Which is why I say if you need a computer for your home or business, buy something good enough today, don't sit around and wait. Production is currently back on schedule from the Covid catastrophe that backed up production because TSMC shut down for several months due to covid. But if China invades, good luck. We are going to be stuck with the computers we already have for YEARS while the democrats spin in circles trying to figure out who gets the magical new chip factory built in their district (thus billions in tax dollars and tens of thousands of new jobs) and thus who does the most bribes and affirmative action hires, and how many trannies it takes to fuck up a microchip.
