The veganism is a bit of a problem for me, because I eat only meat: I break out in a rash and start getting arthritis, if I don't. I only eat one meal a day, and don't touch alcohol or soft drinks for similar reasons.

Bugger off with the Vegan nonsense. Puhlease. Been there, done that, bought the record. Fasting means NOT eating. Tempering that, with stuffing oneself with plants is NOT the same thing, and I do not see anything in the Bible that states that. So I disagree that fasting = no animal products. the purpose is to release people from cooking and eating all the time. Plus, fasting is very healthy - it resets the body. Arguably, eating a vegan diet enslaves one more: It is way more labor intensive TBH. Vegans have all sorts of ways to pack calories in, which defeats the entire purpose of fasting. Why are those vegan advocates not saying that one must limit sugar and refined flours? There is a piece in the bible about not eating leavened products, for example. The idea there is that leavened food takes too much time to prepare. The modern day solution is to eat crackers (matzoh) instead. Ugh.

I shall limit how much I eat, however - perhaps introduce longer periods of complete fasting. Say one meal every 48 hours, maybe longer.
