I was living on that island at the time, the military base is at the northwest part of the island, the military base did not react to "any possible missile launch", nothing (if it was not them, if it was unknown or even suspected to be you would think they would of went straight to red alert but, nope nothing.. The ATC on the base alert if even a small plane enters the airspace without making contact to the tower.. as it was all over the news there and called "it was a mystery light" not "a missile launch". Did it even happen? IDK.

It is a very large bay, looking out to the northwest across the ocean from the island to the south you do not even see that line of northern landmass shown in that photo unless you have 20+ mile visibility. and it is deep water as well.
