Thanks to Uncle Sam, and his loyal taxpayers, Ukraine will be able to deliver 100 lb 155mm artillery launched cluster munitions. Reasoning is: that Russia has already used them (ignoring that USA is the main dropper of this type of bomb in the last 20-30 years - akshully since Vietnam).
Russia denies having launched any cluster munitions in this war, despite what 'officials' in the EU and the US have said (they were projecting, what they meant was that USA, and Ukraine, had already used them). Russians have so far been mindful of civilian deaths. Although they have not signed the ban on cluster munitions, they are aware that the world frowns upon this type of ammunition, and have refrained from using these types of bombs. On the other hand, they have documented Ukraine dropping old Soviet cluster munitions, specifically on civilian targets (Donetsk city).
However, Russians are able to launch 500 kg (1100 lbs), 1000 kg (2200 lbs), or even bigger cluster munitions. Compare that with the feeble 100lb bombs the US is giving to Ukraine. That's right, do the Math: Russian ones are 10 to 20 times more powerful, and also way more diverse in diabolicalness.
USA ran out of 155mm shells, so are sending these cluster f*cks. Desperation, much?
Shoigu says Russia will respond in kind, only better. Even though I'd say that this escalation would be justified, because dang the resolutions, and Ukrainians are now openly using them - no denials.
