And there have been. people seem to think that their experience of the world during the second half of the 20th century, or even the entire 20th century, is what the reality of the world has always been. In the last several hundred years, the world has emerged out of incomparable darkness. Torture a common thing. Slavery a common thing. Murder and so forth. Debauchery. Whole societies and civilizations were based on human sacrifice and child murder.
What has happened in the last several hundred years is the fruit of the seeds planted by Christ 2000 years ago. Through centuries of persecution, martyrdom, revival and striving, the Christian civilization eventually bore the fruit we observed, the pinnacle being the United States.
But Christ clearly foretold of a time when evil would be set loose, when all the darkness would again emerge, for the final showdown.
As horrific as many of the current realities are that we face, they pale in comparison to the past.
This isn't about this generation, or the next 3 or 4 generations. This is about millennia.
Painful as it is, there is no alternative to the people of the world waking up, and that only happens by exposing the evil as it is. We strive to minimize the pain and the loss, but this was always going to be an unavoidable trial for humankind. That fate has been coming not for 2000 years, but for 6000+ years.
The children have ALWAYS been defenseless. Humanity has been defenseless. That's not the case any more.
Perspective brings balance and grounding.
