I dont think people understand the vast quantities of legacy weapons out there. These are weapons handed down through the generations with no documentation. States like Michigan and Wisconsin with a strong hunting/outdoorsmen tradition are full of them. So are the frontier States. Any family that has lived in these places for a couple generations or more has at least one. Id bet there are at least as many of these weapons as guns that are documented. And dont discount the huge uptick in archery sports over the last 40 years where now you have crossbows that fire bolts nearly as powerful as a gun at 100 yards or less but almost completely silent. They may be harder to hide but they are just as deadly. Here in Michigan if you are a hunter you probably have multiple guns along with a compound bow, a crossbow and maybe even a recurve. Probably have a 50 cal muzzleloader too.
