I'm all for free expression, but I never understood how someone could willingly associate themselves with that flag. It's about how the perception has changed over the years, and you have to understand how anyone displaying that flag is perceived by the larger public. It's inextricably associated with the South and the right to own slaves. I don't care if it has more historical significance than that or "muh states rights", if you can't see that, you are living under a rock. Looks like a nice guy and good on him for helping out a stranger tho.
