Based on my prior noticing regarding Lucille ball (in comments) I'm convinced she was an early prototype for the now familiar "innocent, wholesome star turned into cultural subversive propaganda delivery vector". I have been watching the 70s "Here's Lucy" show. Now, imagine you grew up during or were an adult fan for, the real-time airing of "I Love Lucy", (boomers and early gen-x), you'd be primed to cling to all things Lucy. Then about 15 years later Hollywood brings Lucy back, but this time the show is quite different, though they try so hard to keep it the same. Idk how else to put it, you'd have to watch both shows and decide.
