And in no way she could not have known the "religious significance" of that picture. When have any other characters in art but ones connected to some religion been depicted with halos? (It's not just Christian art that likes halos to signify the difference between normal humans and in some way or another holy individuals)

At most she maybe didn't realize it was a picture depicting Mary and Jesus as at least in some pictures of John the Baptist as a baby held by his mother both have halos, and perhaps she just assumed that there might be other Christian art that depicts some obscure saint as a baby with his mother and both have halos.

Well, probably not. And even then she should have figured it was some sort of religious art picture. But that story says she has liked being controversial, maybe she had gotten too used to getting away with a lot because she is a bit privileged in more than one way - Muslim, at least by birth, immigrant, Green Party, and if that picture has not been overly much improved a pretty good looking young woman, and let's face it, beautiful people, especially women, do get away with more than average looking or ugly ones. But now she finally went too far.

Interesting question is if she has actually gotten threats, and if so, from who? She seems to have also said that she is now an agnostic, and Islam in general doesn't seem to be all that tolerant towards people who try to leave it, in any way. Of course the impression given is that she is being threatened by Christians, but would she, or any of the people she has been in league with, dare to say that it is actually some hardline Muslims anyway if that was the case?

I presume it could be Muslims. An agnostic woman - so somebody who has left her religion - who was born as a Muslim shooting at a picture of Mary and Jesus, both also considered to be holy in Islam? Sounds like something some Muslims might get angry about.
