I've seen a few black-pilled people point out that the freedom of information request was done by BuzzFeed, and, they're fearing that Fauci going down will somehow implicate Trump (because he didn't fire him long ago).

I'm much more white pilled than that. Interesting to see how the same data can result in far different view points though.

As for your question of "if it white hats weren't in control would they have released this?". Well, maybe it would have been granted (it seems to be the law), but, as we've seen, Dems are willing to ignore laws and subpoenas (e.g., Arizona comes to mind).
