I was a teacher before my son and I did my best to be middle road. I heard other teachers and they were clearly bias and shamed those who did not align with their thinking. Even went as far as telling students and teachers who supported Trump, aka me, very inappropriate. Kids were shocked because of how kind I am and I do think it helped show them being conservative doesnt mean you are a bigot.

I had a student who apparently claimed to be a lesbian and it didnt change my teaching or kindness nor did we talk about it. However, when she wanted to know my opinions on abortion to see another perspective, very bright kid, we had a discussion. I also was very pregnant. I did get her to see how babies are being killed at 6 months, the age she was born. She was shocked and taken back. I think I helped her to see some light.
