Who can tell? But my own gut reaction is that the best resolution of the Jan. 6th Committee hearings would be to declare them in violation of House rules and invalidly composed, and then to drop the whole subject. I don't believe that anyone except rabid Democrats give 2 cents for the Jan. 6th event. Better to make it futile than to make it a cause celebre.
Also, from the standpoint of strategy and control, I don't think Trump would ever make an announcement regarding something he does not control and is subject to veto by other parties. This is a lame option, both figuratively and literally.
History does not regard promises or good intentions. History records events, i.e., things that Have Happened. If Trump cannot produce a fait accompli of some sort, it will be subject to future events.
