I have no disastrous Thanksgiving tales to tell, and that is because husband and I essentially have no family. We consider ourselves "retired orphans." No children. I have 3 grown, married nephews with children who we adore, but they live in NC and GA. Plus, we live "too far away" for anybody to visit from our home state of DE (yuck). We reside in rural Lancaster County, PA...and it's NOT far away - a 45-minute drive max. We're originally from DE; our entire careers were there. It was so damn good to get out of that state. Not saying PA is any better politically, but we are quite content with the area in which we live.

My husband does have a family, if you want to call it that. They're all wackos. Husband also attaches "hillbilly" to wacko. Pro Biden, pro vax, you get the picture. I could go on and on and on, but I won't.

So, instead of cooking the Thanksgiving dinner today for the 2 of us (although I truly enjoy this holiday the most), I'll do it on New Years Day, we are leaving the house shortly for dinner reservations at a little gem of a restaurant that we often frequent.

This is my favorite holiday. Wishing all of you a Blessed, Happy Thanksgiving!
