Dr. Elvove was our doctor in Illinois and he is still practicing today!!!. I saw him in Lincolnshire, but I see he is now in Libertyville. He was part of a group of doctors in the Northern Illinois area that did home births/family practice. In the 1980's there was a lot of persecution towards these doctors because of their home birth practices, but I am glad to say that he has survived...I also see that Cathy, one of our nurse midwives is still in his practice. I have nothing but praise for this great man and the opportunities he gave us. I am sure he has delivered thousand of babies. As with any doctor, you have to prepare yourself with all the knowledge you can...even good doctors need to be checked out. I am so grateful to God for the opportunities He gave us in Illinois to participate in such wonderful knowledge and family centered activity. We had a wonderful La Leche League leader, we had a food co-op and a babysitting co-op and a home school support group and a playgroup. I have to say 1978-1989 were very wonderful years in the Round Lake area I lived in. God sometimes blesses us with so much more than we could ever imagine and that is my time in Illinois, where I have the fondest memories of all the people and places that I knew. Memories are wonderful things when we pull them out and revisit them.................
