This sounds like what happened to my wife 12 years ago shortly after the birth of our son. Does it resemble an allergic reaction? Any hives ? You mention she is out of breath. Is her airway closing off due to swelling?

My wife had these symptoms and was in the ER over and over again. I understand the hell you’re going through.
