She will be recommending that our policy be revised from mandatory masks to recommended effective May 3, 2021. Here's a copy. I blanked out the county for Privacy. Looks like Florida is back on track!

This is Karen--------, --------- ---------- Superintendent of Schools with two very important items for parents and guardians regarding our Code of Student Conduct Dress Code Policy and also intent forms for the 21-22 school year.
As you know, our policy regarding face coverings in the Code of Student Conduct was based on the Public Health Advisory filed July 21, 2020 that required face coverings for all Florida residents indoors and outdoors unless social distancing was possible. Yesterday, Dr. Rivkees, the Surgeon General for the State of Florida, rescinded that Public Health Advisory. Therefore, the School Board of Santa Rosa County, Florida, hereby gives notice that it will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 3, 2021, at 8:00 am CST at 5086 ----- Street, ------, Florida 3---0. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and potentially take action on the issue of whether community health risks require masks or face coverings to be worn in schools. Subject to school board review and approval, I will recommend that our policy be revised from mandatory masks to recommended effective May 3, 2021. Employees and students may still wear masks and we will work with each student and their parent to address any individual concerns."
