He didn't change any verses that I am aware of. It's a KJV translation with notes/commentary. It was the notes, the commentary, that was added that presented the problem. The gullible trusted the notes and would tend to put them on par with actual scripture.

I remember this period of time because one of my sons was able to get a mortgage at around 3% during that 2020 time period.
