Coal's energy density is a little more than half of petroleum. Multiple products can be produced from petroleum, unlike coal. Petroleum is also much easier to transport. You can even run petroleum through a pipeline.
I'm not saying coal isn't useful, but petroleum is far more useful.

Personal comment. Petroleum is the only resource that really matters. It is far more important than gold, silver, coal, wind energy, or solar energy.

I like to consider myself a libertarian. The problem with libertarianism is that it cannot work in a world that is this corrupt. Trump and the Patriots are working to change that, but for now one would be a fool to vote Libertarian rather than MAGA.

I've been wondering this exact thing recently.
I do think there is another facet though. I think that what they believe politically is tied up in who they believe they are as a person. This is why identity politics works on them. This is why they can't change their political stance because it would mean they have to chance what they believe of themselves personally.
