Idaho National Guard has the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team which has the 148th Field Artillery Regiment in it. They run M109 A6/7 SPHs. It was probably maneuvers. & Not to be picky, but those are not tanks. They are self propelled howitzers (artillery).

We have had people in the field next to us blow up refrigerators and dryers that have shook the house and rattled the windows and when I hear explosions I usually wonder what they are doing next door now. LOL
Yes I was out side- live about an hour half away from DC-but we all now know it was a fighter jet sonic boom. The second explosion we heard could have been the crash but not sure I would be able to hear that from where I am.
I heard it and it sounded like an explosion but a little different- I said wtf was that and then shortly heard another & thought maybe fireworks not unheard of
