Mr. Curruchiche, the prosecutor, whom the United States sanctioned by placing him on a list of corrupt officials for obstructing corruption inquiries and undermining democracy, said that the search followed a complaint filed with the Public Ministry....

Guatemala has had a record of suppressing anticorruption and human rights work....

The complaint against Save the Children was filed by a person who said that Guatemalan children were being abused at shelters in Texas where nongovernmental organizations were working, according to Juan Luis Pantaleón, a spokesman for the Public Ministry.

Mr. Curruchiche, the prosecutor, said that the authorities had asked the attorney general’s office in Texas for help with the investigation. In a letter to Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general, verified by Guatemala’s Public Ministry, Ángel Pineda, the ministry’s secretary general, accused Save the Children of sending children to Texas illicitly. Mr. Pineda has also been sanctioned by the United States.

Manfredo Marroquín, the head of Citizen Action, a Guatemalan anti-corruption policy group, dismissed the notion that Guatemalan prosecutors were suddenly concerned about the safety of children in the country.

“Most likely, and almost assuredly, this is politically motivated,” he said in an interview.

Save The Children issued a couple of statements this month saying they work within two districts in Nicaragua and do facilitate the movement of children out of Nicaragua

I just tried to find more info about this and found this article. Might need a 3 day or 3 week rule on this.

This stems from an allegation of abuse in Texas. Not Guatemala.

Based on who the prosecutor was they say politics was behind it.

The Prosecutor is sanctioned by the US

Mr. Curruchiche, whom the United States sanctioned by placing him on a list of corrupt officials for obstructing corruption inquiries and undermining democracy,

In 2018 Trump signed an anti corruption law against Nicaragua

H.R.1918 - Nicaragua Human Rights and Anticorruption Act of 2018

In 2021 Biden sign an anti corruption law against Nicaragua.

Reinforcing Nicaragua's Adherence to Conditions for Electoral Reform Act of 2021 or the RENACER Act

The Prosecutor was sanctioned under this act that

granted the President several measures to address acts of corruption and human rights violations by the Daniel Ortega administration

Jose Rafael Curruchiche Cacul (Rafael Curruchiche), the current chief of the Public Ministry’s Office of the Special Prosecutor Against Impunity (FECI), obstructed investigations into acts of corruption by disrupting high-profile corruption cases against government officials and raising apparently spurious claims against FECI prosecutors, private attorneys, and former International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG) prosecutors.

Looking into why we are sanctioning the Ortega government, well Nicaragua is a mess https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/nicaragua-accused-violations-tantamount-crimes-against-humanity-by-un-experts-2024-02-29/

With massive violent crackdowns on protestors since at least 2018. Which causing tons of migrants coming to the US

Ortega is accused of making Nicaragua the starting point for migrants. In response to the sanctions he has dropped visa restrictions and allowed folks to fly in from South America and Asia knowing they would go north.

I'm sorry, but nothing was entered into the record.

That is not how Supreme Court hearings work.

Barged in? Hotel room doors usually have an automatic lock when closed and often also have a peephole, a deadbolt, a swing bar door guard, and a chain. Notice the article doesn’t claim that he broke in, just barged in.

You realize you're basing this whole thing on how a reporter wrote a sentence. Not about the trial but about a remembrance of the trial.

You're substituting your reading of this sentence and saying that over ways what the jurors saw when they heard the witness testify and heard the witness cross-examine and heard Weinstein's evidence.

You realize you could have just checked this fact right???

Because what happened and what barged in means here was that Weinstein was not invited and demanded to be let in and she did let him in. There's a lot of reporting on the trial. You can read about her testimony. You could read what she actually said

Haha.

I think I just discovered something.

Do you see how the GWP article is attributed to a guest contributof? But that person is never mentioned. They quote something but again no link?

I'm just looked into the argument and it brought me to an oped in the NY Times

I'm 95% sure this "guest contributor" is Joe Hoft reading this argument in the NY Times or hearing about this op ed, but he doesn't want his readers to know this is from the NY Times.

Ok I see the gateway Pundit link now. GAW has that formatting error where it doesn't recognize line breaks.

My name is who is kidding who because I'm trying to stop kidding myself. I have had an issue with GWP because too often the stories they wrote don't match their sources. If you follow the links, the news they rely on is different.

I realized their business model is telling us what we want to hear, not what is so. Let's see what they say

DA Bragg’s case is in serious trouble. The gang behind the prosecution of President Trump made a serious error that should lead President Trump’s team to move to dismiss.

Prosecutors in New York have revealed what the other crime is that Donald Trump was allegedly trying to conceal when he was falsifying business records and they claim it was to unlawfully promote his candidacy. The fatal error is that the NY Statute they cite only applies to elections within the State of New York and not Federal Elections!

Trump was running for the federal office of President of the United States and not a State Office and therefore the premise of what the prosecution is trying to prove as the second crime used to get around the statute of limitations issue and to elevate this business records case to a felony must fail!!

Remember what I said about GWP and links?

They didn't even provide a link here. Here's the law they are talking about. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/ELN/17-152

But even before we actually look at the law, Trump's got big attorneys working for him. If there's an obvious issue with this, they'd raise it in court.

Also, before looking at the law there seems to be a big mistake here. I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me elections for federal office are subject state election laws. When you are registered to vote in New York and you vote for Trump for president, you do that within New York election laws. Like in New York state if you want to vote for Donald Trump for president in 2024, You have to be registered in the state of New York by October 26, 2024.

I think GWP is telling us what we want to hear here, not actually providing legal analysis.

I saw this too

New York's highest court grants Harvey Weinstein a new sexual assault trial, saying the judge should not have allowed in evidence of uncharged bad acts.

Are you talking about Michigan where the state police wouldn't let them enter the building?

MI law requires the electors to meet in the State Senate.

Apparently the two women who won their defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani are suing them.

Rudy's lawyer even pointed the finger at Gateway Pundit during closing arguments, saying they published before Giuliani said anything

This is gotta be based on the testimony of Kenneth Chesebro. After he plead guilty in GA, other states interviews him.

There's a hearing in Michigan this week to see if local Republicans there are going to trial on us on a case like this

Chesebro also was interviewed in Nevada and one other state I think

I am a little underwhelmed by this theory.

Yeah there's another way to look at this.

I think it's less of a brilliant countermove and more of a realization of the political reality.

Those 5 who didn't resign got want they wanted. They didn't have to play their trump card yet. They don't actually want the Democrats to hold the House, but they don't want Gaetz and that side to trigger another speaker fight/dictate to the speaker.

The political reality is their have this weapon.

So given that both side have weapons and both sides can lose the bigger war, they faced the reality they may not want to fight a losing battle.

Now how it works.

Passing a bill to send money means yes, You are now legally obligated to send the money once it becomes law. Biden has already signed the bill. It's already law of the United States.

President Biden, in remarks on Wednesday morning, announced the shipments would begin in the “next few hours,”

this is actually looking legit.

Here's another video https://www.tiktok.com/@michaelsolakiewicz/video/7361187214786825518

It looks like they went down 5th to an entrance on the side street. Not the main entrance.

That means they would have travellwd down 5th for one block and turned onto 56th street

I realized that wasn't just anyone from Twitter, but someone with the campaign.

Trump has already been arrested in NY, FL and GA. He was never jailed, but he was arrested and arraigned.

In DC he just got a summons to be arraigned.

People were wondering if that he was the first arrest that would make the big difference.
